The taper is when the training becomes the race. Put in your race day to see where you are in the twelve weeks and when your taper starts. The full planner, with every week of it dated and race week hour by hour, is part of the course.

How the numbers are worked out
What the full planner does
It dates Weeks 10, 11 and 12 against your race day and sizes each one from your peak week. Race week is laid out hour by hour, from the first carb-load meal to the gun, with the checklist from the Week 8 planning lesson beside it. It's in every tier of the course, in the taper lessons, and it opens on your race.
How the weeks are counted
The course's weeks run Monday to Sunday, and race day falls in Week 12. Week 1 starts on the Monday eleven weeks before race week's, and the taper starts with Week 10. For a race that isn't on a Sunday, the course keeps Monday as day one and adjusts the final ten days rather than shift the whole block.
